Associate Professor Jessica Mantei is a Professor of Education and Executive Dean of the Faculty of Education, Philosophy and Theology at The University of Notre Dame Australia. She brings more than 30 years of experience across early childhood, primary, secondary and tertiary education in Catholic, independent and public school systems. Her research investigates teachers and learners’ literate identities and the ways those identities influence the ways they engage in classrooms as learners and teachers.
Jessica’s professional work is grounded in a deep belief that education has the power to transform lives, with literacy playing a pivotal role in that transformation. As a teacher, researcher and senior academic leader, Jessica is committed to widening access to high-quality education and ensuring that opportunities for learning are available within local communities.
